This book almost got five stars from me bc it was really an amazing read. It made me laugh out loud many times, and even though it lacks in some things (sm*t) the fact that there are so many amazing moments - cute and funny - makes it still a very good book. Was honestly scared to read this bc just few months ago this was a very popular book and then suddenly people started complaining but I have seriously nothing to complain about. It had action, it had a good book boyfriend who had some very nice comments that deserved my sticky notes to be placed in this book many times.
As someone who struggles with my body and how it looks, some parts felt very relatable.
I honestly thing that some parts of this book deserve way more recognition.
I would give this book 3.5 stars. There was just something missing ((smut)) and I was expecting more as this book was and still is so popular. I dont know if I like the main characters, but I can definitely relate to both of them in some ways. I wasnt a fan of this switching between present and past time, it was just very confusing.
But it was still a very comfortable reading. Wouldnt probably read it again but would tell people to read it.
I loved this with my whole heart. Every page was amazing, making me want to read just one more chapter and then just one more and one more. The way they were expressing love to each other without even realising it but knowing at the same time they have found their soulmate it was just sjsksjsksjhsjsj.
This friends to lovers to strangers to lovers trope has a special place in my heart from now on.
Do I love Declan?? Its definitely a love hate relationship but theres so much love for him after those few last chapters. Dream man when it comes to sex, money, buying you things you wanted for so long. Iris is such a queen, love that woman oh my god, girl boss (yes Declan you’ve heard me). Couldnt put the book down, bc the way its written is just amazing and so catching. AND SHE PUT PLAYLIST AT THE START OF THE BOOK!!! Like who does that other than girl bosses.
Read this book without reading the first one and I didnt mind it at all.
This book has a very special place in my heart. The plot, the way it was written, only meeting the characters for one day each year, I just wanna hug Colleen Hoover for being so damn smart and talented. This book made me feel safe, gave me some kind of hope and lots of love. And Ben, oh my god, Benton James Kessler you just became one of my top three book boyfriends, bc damn you’re good with words and very good at loving girl who cant love herself the way she should. Thank you for setting my standards even higher.
WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K????
While reading this book I was like I would give this book -5 stars if possible bc this book is just...I don't even have words for it. At the end though I was like CoHo you are one crazy writer and I love you for it, like her mind is just out of this world if it can come up with things like THIS.
I don't even know what to believe in after finishing the book. The jump scares make me want to believe that one of the characters *wink wink* was fucked up. I will probably never ever read this book again but it was definitely an experience.
what a book !!! Iwas just what i needed to read. I am now in love with Augustus Everett and I probably wont be able to forget about him for a long long time. This book was so fresh with so many amazing scenes and parts that I had to highlight because I will be for sure coming back to this book. It has everything: funny moments, heartbreaking moments, moments that make you think about your own life, moments full of love (that made me feel lonely but oh well i signed up for this), … just beautiful beautiful book. Thank you Emily Henry.
4,5 stars during most of the book but the end made it 5 stars!! i literally just finished the book like 2 minutes ago and it took me 2 minutes to start writing the review bc i was crying happy tears. i cant explain why this book made me cry, it just did, i guess i needed that. i will dream about charlie and the amazing way he can use words every night until i read another book from emily henry (that woman is a f**king legend)!! i love these main characters with my whole heart and i would protect them with everything i have bc Nora is just so … me … and charlie, oh charlie, you’re all i want and i will wait for someone like you bc i want it all !!
You know the book is good when you start crying after finishing it just bc you’re sad that its the end and you just want to read it again. I’m mad at myself for not reading this book sooner bc it made me feel so alive and full of joy and I just didnt want to put the book down. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the main characters in this book and their families!!! And River is a very special man in my eyes.
ps: if you’re postponing the reading of this book bc it has a kid in it and maybe you’re like me that doesnt like that in books, just read it, i loved it even more bc of the kid
i liked this book but there was something missing for me, like it wasnt that kind of book that made me sit down and cancel all my plans just so i can finish the book. there were parts in this book that i absolutely loved and im not talking only about the sm*t scenes, like Josh had my heart from the start. two things that made me really frustrated were 1. it was written in third person but still it felt like one chapter was focused on josh and the next one on clara and it just wasnt my cup of tea (big books written in first person lover here) and the 2. thing was that the characters were really bad at communicating like I just wanted to scream at them.
