    Tento príspevok prezrádza dôležité momenty deja, preto je skrytý, aby sme Vám nepokazili pôžitok z čítania.
    Life takes and takes and takes. My perception of this book (with the limited amount of understanding i might have) is the perpetual struggle of mentality changes during Japan's transition postwar. Naoji's struggles to be true to his aristocraric blood as well as not fitting among the rest, struggle of not fitting anywhere at alltogether with Kazuko loving her mother and taking care of her until the last breath, both have struck with me. The grief of losing people all around you in perpetual, yet slow change feels anguishing.

    Not as dazzling as No Longer Human, but decidedly poignant, and at times quite powerfully stirring. The setting sun gives the reader an insight of Japanese culture in the post-war era. Here Dazai shows the struggles of an aristocratic japanese family. He is straight forward and sometimes rather lyrical and always precise. This book was clearly written with great care.

    V Prahe a ešte na niektorých iných miestach som sa naučil byť sám. Byť sám sebou som sa doteraz nenaučil. Sám viem byť aj v dlhom rade na kapry. Ide to bez námahy, nemusím sa na to ani sústredí - pokiaľ si ma nevšímajú, na množstve ľudí okolo nezáleží. No na to, aby sme boli sami sebou, potrebujeme druhých.
