Velkoformátová publikace věnovaná české avantgardní fotografii... Čítať viac
A richly illustrated journey through the history of the Czech avant-garde-a real treat for all fans of early twentieth-century photography.
To this day, few areas in the history of photography have received as little attention as that of Czech photography between the end of World War I and the beginning of the Communist regime in 1948. This is all the more astonishing because, during this period, the country produced such a large number of photographers who managed to translate the modernist vision of this era into a unique visual language.
This large-format publication contains 173 major works, in color, by thirty-nine photographers of the Czech avant-garde. Alongside great names such as František Drtikol, Jaromír Funke, Jaroslav Rössler, Josef Sudek, and Anton Josef Trcka, lesser-known artists can also be discovered. With short biographies of all participating photographers, Czech Vision is not merely an exclusive art book; it can also be used as a reference work, providing an informative overview of the history of the Czech avant-garde between the world wars.
