To quote Karim Rashid, “Design is no longer a word or profession, it is a philosophy, a doctrine, a way of living.” Beauty seems abstract and subjective, yet sometimes the eye of a designer can turn what seems to be of no value into something essential, reimagining an object and extending its life. With the introduction of user-friendly design software, more and more of us are aquainting ourselves intimately with the way things around us can look. There is no limit when it comes to what can or cannot be designed, and Stuffz – Design on Material openly embraces all materials. Designers turn their attention to fashion and architecture; furniture, toys, ceramics, clothes, and everyday objects reinvigorating them with passion. Designers from six continents share 100 origional designs showcasing curent trends from the design revoltion. Contributers include Marcel Wanders, Tokidoki, Estrada, Carviar, L&A Maethger, Havaianas, Jurgen Bey, Marcus Benesch, El Ultimogrito, Sonia Chow Studio, Furi Furi Company, Pandarosa, Charming Unit, as well as others. Stuffz – Design on Material is a celebration of free expression for global designers great and small.
