Ku knihe YOU ma priviedol rovnomenný seriál z dielne Netflixu. Hltala som diel za dielom a po prieskume trhu som našla knižnú verziu. Nezvyknem čítať knihu, ktorej filmové spravovanie som už videla, ale rozhodla som sa jej dať šancu, pretože Joe Goldberg je láska. Keďže daná kniha nie je preložená do slovenčiny ale len do češtiny, siahla som po originály. Myslím si, že level angličtiny nie je nijak náročný, taký seriálový. Prekvapilo ma, ako rýchlo som prečítala 400 stranovú knihu v angličtine.
Od knihy som dostala presne to, čo som očakávala. Dostala som sa do hlavy Joa, kníhkupca z New Yorku, ktorého rozhodnutia sú dych vyrážajúce, ale nemám mu to za zlé, veď to robí pre lásku. Príbeh postupne rozpráva Joe, ústredná postava deja, ktorý s čitateľom zdieľa svoje myšlienky a plány. Nenápadne sa pokúša dostať do života krásky menom Beck, čo sa mu aj podarí. Ako sa vyvinie ich vzťah a ako to celé skončí si už prečítajte sami.
Knihu radím do kategórie oddychový triler, určite v ňom netreba hľadať nejakú hlbšiu myšlienku, ani inšpiráciu ako si nájsť v dnešnej dobe partnera. Ak sa vám príbeh zapáči, má aj pokračovanie s názvom Hidden Bodies. Odporúčam nadšencom ľahkého napätia na pozadí love story, fanúšikom stalkingu a ľuďom, čo obľubujú prostredie New Yorku.

K tejto knižke som sa dostala prostredníctvom záberov z rovnomenného filmu. Rozhodla som sa nepozrieť si ho, ale radšej siahnuť po knihe.
Knihu by som zaradila k oddychovým, ale pútavým teenage romance. V angličtine je krásne spracovaná a ľahko sa číta. Ku koncu knihy nastáva zvrat, ktorý som očakávala, čiže ma to neprekvapilo, ale na druhú stranu ma to potešilo. Od knihy som dostala presne čo som čakala, možno aj viac (napätie).
