Viac o knihe

Zaha Hadid is a wildly controversial architect, who for many years built almost nothing, despite her designs winning prizes and critical acclaim. Some even said her work was unbuildable. Yet over the past decade, Hadid has been catapulted to world fame and she has completed numerous structures including the Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati (which the New York Times called ’’the most important new building in America since the Cold War’’), the Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg, Germany, the MAXXI Museum in Rome, the Guangzhou Opera House (her first completed project in China), and the London Aquatics Center for the 2012 Olympics. Today, Hadid's audacious and futuristic desings have firmly established her among the élite of world architecture.

Born in Baghdad and educated in London, where her practice is based, Hadid has designed radical architecture for over 30 years. This massive TASCHEN monograph covers her complete works to date, and all of her recent projects from Marseille to Dubai. As a specially updated 2013 trade edition of the XL version demonstrates the progression of Hadid’s career—including not only buildings but also furniture and interior designs—with in-depth texts, spectacular photos, and her own drawings. Also included is a special section with translucent vellum paper allowing multiple layers of designs to be viewed together or separately.

„…uveriť, že milovať - milovať s nohami pevne na zemi a nie tak, ako sme si to predstavovali ako dievčatá - je zručné žonglérske cvičenie, permanentné obetovanie sa, prehĺtanie ropúch eleganciou. “
